IMPORTANT NEWS
Sadly Commercial Square Studios, my artistic home for many years, was acquired for redevelopment last year. However, I am lucky enough to now have a lovely new studio to work in. I am also part of a newly formed group of artists from Commercial Square called 'squareroots'. Currently the group consists of me, Liz Meier, Isabel Fallow and June Kingsbury but we hope to invite other artists to join us in future. Please go to the 'events' page to see details of forthcoming events and exhibitions. If you'd like to be added to the 'squareroots' mailing list, please use my contact form to let me know and I will add you to the list.

I am passionate about art. I see it as a very positive energy force in the world. Like music, it has the power to comfort, inspire, energise, soothe, excite, or to provoke and unnerve – art has all these possibilities and for me provides a never ending journey of discovery. This site showcases my latest body of work using both acrylics on canvas and egg tempera on gesso panels.
Most of my work is done using the ancient techniques of egg tempera and gilding on my own handmade gesso panels. Many years ago I studied icon painting using egg tempera and gold leaf and my work has developed from this starting point. I continually revisit this beautiful medium to produce contemporary work, which I hope has the ability to capture the everyday beauty of the world from dramatic landscapes to simple objects.
