I hope you will enjoy looking at these images which

have all been made using the techniques of egg

tempera on gesso panels.  In this slideshow of

abstract images, I was concerned with using the

same materials and techniques as the Renaissance

masters but revisiting them to produce my version

of modern day icons - images that instill a sense of

wonder and mystery in the viewer.

I have always enjoyed working with the human form and these studies were inspired by the beauty of the human form. The more dynamic poses of couples entitled 'Pointing to Heaven',  were inspired by some contemporary dance pieces where the dancers were continually pointing and looking upwards, the dance was very joyful but with an element of questioning our place in the world too!
